Michael Freytag is the Director of Development at Intact Solutions and is the chief architect of the Scan&Solve™ system. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where his thesis research was on application of meshfree analysis methods to geometry captured by modern acquisition techniques. His research continues in the optimization of the geometric algorithms on which the Scan&Solve™ technology relies.
Vadim Shapiro holds the Benard A. and Frances M. Weideman Chair in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; he is also a Professor of Computer Science and is Director of Spatial Automation Laboratory since 1994. He teaches and conducts research in geometric and solid modeling, computational geometry, computational design, analysis, and simulation which also led to development of the Scan&Solve™ technology. As a founder of Intact Solutions, he has been providing the technical and strategic guidance to the company since its inception.
