The Research Scientist/Engineer will be responsible for generating new insights and theories to push forward the state-of-the-art of meshfree finite elements. This role will require understanding aspects of computational scalability, systems-level architecture, and fundamental mathematical properties of the problem. The work product of this role will become the techniques of next-generation computer-aided engineering.

Specific Qualifications

  • 2+ years of C++ experience
  • Published peer-reviewed articles in relevant fields
  • Preferred: Masters or Ph.D. in mathematics, computer science, engineering or other relevant field

Responsibilities

  • Research in computer-aided design, analysis, and simulation. Potential for other research in scientific computing or computational mechanics
  • Synthesize heterogeneous research topics into cohesive theories and research proposals
  • Implement prototype C++ code to test and communicate novel research ideas
  • Investigate and implement algorithms from research literature
  • Conduct computational validation and numerical verification tests
  • Write peer-reviewed papers for conference and journal publication
